March 4 Meeting of Sandy River Valley Chapter-Maine Genealogical Society

Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Sandy River Valley Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society will meet at the Farmington Public Library at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4. Jim King, the organization's president, will present an overview of DNA testing. King will explain the different types of DNA tests and review the four largest testing companies. For those researching their ancestry, DNA test results might help solve genealogical "brick walls." The public is invited to attend and donations are gladly accepted. SRVC collects, exchanges, preserves and publishes genealogical records, related documents and information. The group maintains a genealogical library and encourages those with an interest in genealogy to join their meetings on the first Saturday of each month. Most meetings are at the library, but some are off-site field trips. For more information, email vtu15@tds.net.
