Songs Beyond Borders

Location: Old South Congregational Church, 233 Main Street Farmington

 The Old South Concert Series continues on Thursday, April 20th as a collaborative blend of Maine and Canada share musical talent with “Songs Beyond Borders.  Jam Session will begin at 6:15 pm and concert to follow at 7 pm.  Adults $15 with discounted student prices ($10/$5).  Refreshments by donation.  Ticket reservations call 207-491-5919

 

Songs Beyond Borders is an ongoing project between the East Coast Music Assoc, New England Celtic Arts, and the Maine Arts Commission to provide a cross cultural exchange between Maine and the Maritimes. Part I will be held in April and Part II in late October. The musicians selected have been carefully chosen to highlight stories and songs from the regions participating. Maine’s talented musicians/singer-songwriters will include Denny Breau and Heather Pierson and the Canadian artists will include Nova Scotia’s Ian Sherwood and PEI’s Askley Condon.  For more information about the performers visit the

Volunteers are need to help with an evening meal for the band and sound tech served in the Matthew Room, set up and serving of refreshments in Vestry, donations of dessert type items and snacks, cashier/greeter, and clean up.  Please contact Debbie 207-491-5919, Brenda 207-299-2686, or Hallie 207-778-0111.
