MAY 6 Meeting: Sandy River Valley Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society

Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: Farmington Public Library

The Sandy River Valley Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society will meet at the Farmington Public Library at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 6. Kay Marsh, a genealogist for 40 years, will present “Genealogy and Photography: Resurrecting Rachel”. She'll share steps she followed to solve a genealogical problem, identifying a person in an unlabeled photo and correcting related existing genealogical records. Marsh will also include a brief overview of ways old photographs can enhance the basic facts one collects while compiling genealogy. SRVC's mission is to collect, exchange, preserve and publish genealogical records, related documents and information, to maintain a genealogical library, and to encourage interest in genealogy. Meetings are open to those interested in history and genealogy. The group meets on the first Saturday of each month, unless otherwise noted. For more information, email joannepage@myfairpoint.net.
