Nowetah's Indian Museum's ongoing exhibits feature an outstanding collection of American Indian artifacts from the United States, Canada and South America with a special focus on Maine's Abenaki Indians.

A special museum feature is an impressive collection of over 600 early Maine Indian ash splint, quill and bark baskets.

A gift shop, that supports the museum offers quality, genuine American Indian arts and gifts at reasonable prices. Many items are handmade on the premises by the Nowetah and her daughter Wahleyah.

Abenaki-Paugussett, Indian owned/operated, the museum was established in 1969, built on an early 1600 ancestral Indian site.

Free admission - Donations welcome. The museum receives no local, state or federal museum funding. Free brochure upon request. Ample parking. Handicap wheelchair access ramp. School/scout groups welcome to visit with advance notice. Members of Maine Tourism Association, Maine Archives and Museums and FCCOC.
